Zara is a Northern Hekshanian, hence her white fur and hair. She is a very capable woman who knows her limits, both in social situations and psychologically. Zara normally works as a city secretary, which is a high-end job in the current Hekshanian society. She owns her own apartment and is very much the no-nonsense type.

Zara opted voluntarily to be put into the hospital, because she felt the stress in her life was getting out of hand shortly after the massacre in North Tek. She occassionally visits a therapist, but only when she is officially on 'vacation' time from work. She has a very solid reputation for being a bitch, but she is a very functional bitch.

During her brief stay in the hospital she met and dated Kyotoshi. She attempted to make him understand the relationship was temporary, but he couldn't bring himself to terms with that. They continued for a short time after both exiting the hospital before ending badly. Although Zara sometimes sees Kyo, it is more in passing than a true friendship. Several months after her enterance and exit from the hospital, Zara had a baby. The time frame was awkward enough that neither she nor Kyotoshi are certain who is the father of the child- but Kyo is one of the likely parents. Zara and her child live in her apartment where she is steadily dating a man who acts as her boy's father.
